
In observance of World Day Against Child Labour, the Department of Social Work and the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Holy Cross College, Kozhikode, successfully organized a joint awareness campaign in collaboration with the NSS Unit of BEM Higher Secondary School. Held at Mananchira, Kozhikode, the public outreach initiative featured an array of student-led programs, including an awareness march, group discussions, seminars, and quiz competitions aimed at educating the public on eliminating child labour.
The event was held under the guidance of Holy Cross College Principal Dr. Sister Shiny George and BEM Higher Secondary School Principal Mr. A. Aneesh. Key leadership and coordination were provided by Social Work Department Head Prof. Mussafer Gauri, faculty members K.D. Smitha and Sister Ashly, alongside NSS Programme Officers Lijo Joseph and Sonia John, and student leaders Lana Maria Joseph and Sahala Fathima. The joint initiative saw active and enthusiastic participation from students of both institutions, making a strong impact on the local community.
