Electoral Literacy Club
Activities
The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) at Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology is dedicated to fostering an informed and responsible student community by promoting awareness of electoral rights and processes. The club aims to instill democratic values among students, encouraging active participation in the electoral system. Through various initiatives, the club educates students on the significance of voting, the voter registration process, and the role of elections in a democratic society.
Under the guidance of Ms. Amrutha Modcy, the programme coordinator, the Electoral Literacy Club conducts awareness programs to sensitize students on their electoral rights and responsibilities. The club organizes Voter ID Registration Camps to facilitate the registration of new voters, ensuring that students who reach voting age can exercise their rights without hurdles. Additionally, the club extends its support in the electoral process by assisting authorities in promoting fair and transparent elections. Training sessions and workshops are conducted to equip students with a deeper understanding of the electoral system, voting procedures, and the importance of informed decision-making. Through these activities, the club plays a crucial role in empowering students as responsible citizens who actively contribute to the democratic process.
