Women Development Cell

Being an institution run and managed by one of the women congregations of the Catholic Church, Holy Cross College comprehends and senses the importance of prioritizing gender equality with due importance to the contribution of women and girls for a sustainable future. In the effort to make Holy Cross College a strong kernel of gender equity, the Women Development Cell (WDC) was constituted in August 2012 with an aim to create a gender sensitized community within campus as well as in the society. It has been organising varied academic, technical, medical, cultural and social events to spread the real importance of gender equality in the society through College students. The establishment of the WDC is indeed a landmark achievement of the HC College in pursuance of the policies of women empowerment within the college ambit. Various talks, Seminars, workshops, Competitions and events have motivated the students to spread the importance and ways for women empowerment and gender equality. The diverse programmes on gender equity by the college dedicatedly navigated the paramount of attainment through the actions of the students and have thus added feathers of recognition into the glory of the WDC, Holy Cross. This continues to be a tool of insight in the students and serves as a constant light house of societal up gradation

  • Partnering with Government and Non-Government Organizations advocating for the rights of women and gender justice
  • Prevent gender-based violence of all forms by setting up effective mechanisms
