Bodhi Readers Club

The Bodhi Readers Club, established on 26th October 2015 and inaugurated by Dr. Dineshan Koovakkai, Assistant Librarian at the Calicut University Study Center, is a vibrant initiative aimed at nurturing a love for reading and lifelong learning among students. The club plays a crucial role in helping students realize their full potential by fostering a positive attitude towards continuous learning and intellectual growth. The club’s activities are diverse and enriching, designed to cultivate a strong reading culture within the college. These activities include library orientations, which help students familiarize themselves with the library’s resources, and book exhibitions that showcase a wide range of literature to inspire and engage readers. The club also organizes special events such as Reading Day, National Library Week, and World Book Day, each featuring activities like quiz competitions that encourage active participation and deepen students’ appreciation for literature.

A unique aspect of the Bodhi Readers Club is the annual “Best Library User Award,” which is presented to students who demonstrate exceptional use of library resources. This award serves as both recognition and motivation, encouraging students to make reading a central part of their academic and personal lives. Beyond these events, the club offers a supportive environment where students can discuss books, exchange ideas, and explore new genres. By providing these opportunities, the Bodhi Readers Club not only enhances students’ academic experience but also prepares them for a lifetime of learning and intellectual curiosity. Through its initiatives, the club contributes to creating a community of engaged readers who are eager to expand their knowledge and understanding of the world.
