
Calicut, May 2026 – The Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology (HCIMT) successfully organized the FYUGP Summer Library Internship Programme 2026, hosted by the Holy Cross College Library. The intensive 10-day program, which ran from April 20th to April 30th, was designed to bridge the gap between traditional library science and modern digital resource management.
The 2026 cohort featured students of English Language and Literature from Sree Gokulam Arts and Science College, Balussery. The participants underwent rigorous hands-on training in both foundational and emerging library technologies.

Koha ILMS: Practical training on Integrated Library Management Systems.

Classification & Cataloguing: Precision techniques for resource organization.

Circulation & Stock Verification: Streamlining book flow and inventory management.

Prompt Engineering: An innovative module on leveraging AI to enhance library services and research.
Mentorship and Valedictory
The internship was led by expert mentors Mr. Vijeesh M. (College Librarian) and Mr. T. Akshaykumar (Asst. Librarian & Asst. Professor), who provided the students with deep insights into professional library standards.
The program concluded with a formal valedictory ceremony. Principal Dr. Sr. Shyni George addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of digital literacy in the current academic landscape, and distributed the certificates of completion to the successful interns.
