In a commendable display of civic duty and social responsibility, the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology (HCIMT) actively participated in assisting voters during the recent elections. Organized under the leadership of the District Social Justice Department, this initiative highlighted the vital role students play in supporting the democratic process.

Empowering Every Voter

The primary objective of the deployment was to ensure that senior citizens and People with Disabilities (PwD) could exercise their right to vote comfortably and with dignity. Stationed at various polling booths throughout the district, HCIMT volunteers provided essential services, including:

  • Mobility Support: Operating wheelchairs for individuals with physical challenges.

  • Navigation Assistance: Guiding elderly voters through the polling stations and explaining the queue systems.

  • Compassionate Care: Offering physical aid and a supportive presence to ensure a stress-free voting experience.

Commitment to Service

The dedication shown by our students perfectly embodies the NSS motto, “Not Me, But You.” By stepping out of the classroom and into the community, these volunteers have demonstrated the values of empathy and leadership that Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology strives to instill in every student.

The District Social Justice Department expressed their gratitude to our NSS unit for their disciplined and selfless service, which contributed significantly to a more inclusive election.
