The NSS Unit of Holy Cross College, Calicut recently conducted a comprehensive Health Awareness Campaign (named ‘Chiriyum Chinthayum’ – Laughter and Thought) aimed at youth empowerment and social responsibility, focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention and combating substance abuse. The campaign was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Sister Shemy George, and chaired by NSS Program Officer Mr. Joby Mathew, with resource persons including Dr. Martin Bernard, Aswathy Baburaj, and Abdul Assis delivering key addresses to raise awareness and promote vigilance among the participants. The program, which included a three-day camp that commenced on August 12th at Venapara Holy Family Higher Secondary School Ground and was set to conclude with a Youth Awareness Yatra on 28th, emphasized social harmony and was enlivened by cultural programs, including Sravan Palakkad’s magic show.
