- My Favorite Book : Nexus of Narratives – On June 19th, Holy Cross College in Calicut celebrated National Reading Day with “My Favorite Book: Nexus of Narratives,” an event organized by the Bodhi Readers Club & Ektha Club. The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from the Principal, Vice Principal, HODs, faculty, and students. Dr. Sr. Shiny George, the Principal, officiated the program, delivering an inspiring speech that highlighted the joy and knowledge derived from books. - Luminaria : The Department of English, in association with Ektha Club, organized an inter-departmental competition named “Luminaria” on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11 AM in Room 215, with two main events: a Reel Making Competition and a Book Cover Designing Competition. For the Reel Making Competition, participants created Instagram reels based on a favorite book scene, including an iconic dialogue or quote, and submitted them to @englicaah_hc by 9:30 AM on June 20th, with departments competing as groups. The Book Cover Designing Competition allowed up to two individual participants per department to design unique covers using provided chart paper and their own materials, with judging held from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. Prizes of Rs. 500/- and Rs. 250/- were awarded for 1st and 2nd place respectively, with faculty coordinators Dr. Amala Baby & Ms. Aswathy K, and student coordinators Ms. Fathima Muzammil Abdul Sathar & Ms. Prathiba Premkumar oversaw the events.
