On the occasion of National Handloom Day, the Department of Fashion Designing, in collaboration with the Weavers Service Center, Ministry of Textiles, organized a highly informative workshop on handloom weaving, natural dyeing, and block printing. The session was expertly conducted by Giri Varma C., Technical Superintendent from the Ministry of Textiles, and took place at 10:30 AM in the Theodosian Auditorium.

The workshop provided students with a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of traditional textile arts. Giri Varma C. shared his extensive knowledge on the intricate processes involved in handloom weaving and natural dyeing, offering students a hands-on learning experience. Additionally, live demonstrations of block printing and weaving techniques captivated the audience, allowing students to observe these age-old crafts in action.

Following the educational session, an exhibition and sale of handloom textiles were organized, showcasing the beauty and craftsmanship of the products. Teachers and students showed their appreciation and support by purchasing items from the exhibition, further highlighting the success of the event. The session proved to be immensely useful for students, enriching their practical knowledge and inspiring a greater appreciation for traditional handloom techniques.
