Kozhikode: In observation of National Voters’ Day, students of Holy Cross College organized a series of awareness programs under the theme “My India, My Vote.” The initiative aimed to underscore the power of youth participation in the democratic process and to inspire every citizen to take their voting rights seriously.

Event Highlights

The campaign was a collaborative effort by the college’s NSS Unit, the Election Literacy Club, and the Commerce and Management Association. Key activities included:

  • Awareness Padayatra: A ceremonial march to engage with the public, officially flagged off by the College Principal, Dr. Sr. Shiny George.

  • Preamble Distribution: Students distributed copies of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution to the public, emphasizing the foundational values of our democracy.

  • Door-to-Door Campaigning: Direct interaction with local residents to encourage voter registration and active participation.

  • Beach Quiz Competition: An interactive quiz held at Kozhikode Beach focusing on the history of Independent India, the democratic system, and Constitutional values. Winners were awarded prizes and copies of the Indian Constitution.
