A Milestone in Social Responsibility

Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology has achieved a significant milestone by winning the State NSS Award for the 2023-24 academic year. This prestigious recognition, awarded to our National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, highlights the institution’s commitment to social excellence and community welfare.

Award Highlights & Presentation

The award was presented during a ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram, inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Dr. R. Bindu. The award was received on behalf of the college by:

The honors were presented by Dr. V.M. Uppin, Kerala-Lakshadweep NSS Regional Director, and Dr. D. Devipriya, State NSS Officer.

The ‘Manasagramam’ Project and Key Initiatives

The award recognizes the comprehensive efforts of our students and faculty, specifically the revolutionary ‘Manasagramam’ Project. Our unit was lauded for a diverse range of impactful campaigns, including:

• Life is Beautiful: An anti-drug campaign promoting healthy living.

• Vayanayannu Lahari: A program encouraging reading as a positive alternative to addiction.

• Orange the World: A campaign focused on awareness and social safety.

• Palliative Care & Health: Extensive work in cancer awareness and community health support.

• Civic Responsibility: Dedicated programs for election awareness and cleanliness (Suchitwa) drives.

Minister Dr. R. Bindu noted that the activities conducted by the NSS unit serve as a model for society in fostering social commitment among the youth.
