As part of the public awareness campaign against substance abuse, the NSS Unit of Holy Cross College, in collaboration with the District Social Justice Department, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, and the University of Calicut NSS Department, successfully organized a massive anti-drug bicycle rally in Kozhikode city.

The initiative was conducted under the “Operation Toofan / Toofan The Narco Hunt” project to promote a drug-free society.

Key Highlights of the Event:

  • Flag-Off Ceremony: The rally was officially flagged off by Smt. Milli Mohan, the District Panchayat President.

  • Presidential Address: Dr. Sister Shiny George, Principal of Holy Cross College, presided over the official function.

  • Collaborative Efforts: The campaign was heavily supported by government bodies aimed at eliminating drug abuse under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan framework.

  • Additional Campaigns: Alongside the bicycle rally, the students also organized an energetic flash mob and a door-to-door awareness campaign to spread the message effectively across the local community.

Leadership and Coordination:

The event was organized and led under the guidance of NSS Program Officer Lijo Joseph and Sister Asha John, alongside active participation and leadership from NSS volunteers including Dilna Shajan, Akanksha Suryakanth, Aishwarya, Alan Varghese, P. Advaith, K. Anusha, and Al Sabith.
