Kozhikode: In a strong stance against substance abuse, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Holy Cross College has officially launched a comprehensive public anti-drug awareness campaign. Organized as part of the ‘Operation Toofan’ initiative, the campaign is being conducted in active collaboration with the District Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the District Social Justice Department.

Spreading the Message Across the City

To maximize reach and impact, student volunteers organized extensive awareness drives at major public hubs in the city, including the Kozhikode KSRTC Bus Stand and the Railway Station. Holding placards and banners reading “Say No to Drugs,” the volunteers actively engaged with the public to spread the message of a drug-free society.

College Principal Dr. Sister C. Shiny George announced that the NSS unit will continue to spearhead various awareness activities across different platforms through July 4th.

The campaign’s inauguration and subsequent activities were led by a dedicated team of faculty and student coordinators:

  • Dr. Sister  Shiny George (Principal)

  • Dr. Vineeth Mathew (Head of the Department of Economics)

  • Lijo Joseph (NSS Programme Officer)

  • Sister Asha John

The event saw enthusiastic leadership from NSS student volunteers, including Alan Varghese, P. Aadith, Dilna Shajan, Krishnapriya, Aryananda, and Devika, alongside many other dedicated members who made the drive a grand success.
