Kozhikode, [03/12/2025] – The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) successfully conducted an impactful “Green Election” awareness campaign on campus, aligning its efforts with the state’s Suchitwa Mission (Cleanliness Mission).

The initiative was designed to promote eco-friendly practices and minimize waste during election periods, focusing on the goal of a plastic-free, sustainable election environment.

Key Activities and Objectives:

  • Awareness Drive: Volunteers actively engaged the campus community, conducting extensive public awareness programs in college premises and surrounding areas.

  • Green Protocol Discussions: The campaign included discussions, workshops, and orientation sessions on adhering to “green protocols,” advocating for the use of biodegradable materials instead of plastic and flex.

  • Signature Campaign: The highlight was a signature campaign where participants pledged their support for the green initiative, reinforcing the message of sustainability.

The program demonstrated the students’ commitment to environmental responsibility and achieving the goals set by the Suchitwa Mission, receiving strong support from the college administration. The event was presided over by Principal Dr. Sr. Shiny George and the NSS Program Officer Mr. Joby Mathew, Mr. Lijo Jose and Ms. Aswathy K.

The NSS Unit, under the leadership of its student coordinator team, successfully conveyed the message that youth stand for a green and sustainable electoral process.
