Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology has been at the forefront in social development programmes since its inception. Inspired by Fr. Theodosius, who was gifted with an extraordinary social awareness, the institute strives to cater to the needs of the people and work constantly by all means and ways to alleviate the sufferings of people. The college has many initiatives for community development and has organized several programmes aiming at empowerment of people leading to community development. We believe that ‘empowered’ individuals and families lead to empowered communities and community empowerment should happen in a collective which is intended to improve the quality of life for communities and their environment.
The college consciousness raising and awareness building programmes in different communities on various issues and needs of the respective communities. Some of the major areas our community empowerment programmes include are women development, child rights, environment protection, rights of people with disabilities, support services for destitutes etc.
Apart from regular empowerment programmes, we also collaborate with Government organisations like the District Administration, Department of Women and Child Development, Dept of Social Justice, Kudumbashree, Various Local Self Government Institutions, Shuchitwa Mission etc and many other Non Government organisations working for social development.
We have been actively involved in disaster management activities during the Floods, COVID 19 pandemic etc in association with the Government departments. The college has received many awards and recognitions for its services to the communities.
