Energy Conservation and Awareness Campaign

As part of URJA KIRAN 2015-16, an Energy Conservation and Awareness Campaign, funded by EMC of Centre for Environment and Development, Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology, Calicut organized a street play for the public at the premises of Old Bus stand, Kunnamangalam on 23rd Jan 2016, 10.30 am. DSW theatre group, comprising of 1st MSW students of HCIMT performed the street play to highlight the need of conservation and management of our energy sources with an aim to preserve it for the future generation. It aimed to raise the awareness among public about the crucial issues of mismanagement of our energy sources and love to conservation of environment. The play presented snapshots from the experiences of our day today life in managing and misutilizing our energy sources and also portrayed our anxieties and situations of ‘NO ENERGY’ day in our world which would be happened in the nearest future. With the help of innovative songs, actions, dialogues and musical instruments, the play emphasized the need to conserve our energy sources. The play concluded with the raising of slogans and messages for the effective utilization and conservation of energy sources. The audience enjoyed and appreciated the performance.
